Girls' Names Popular in 1980s Hungary: Portal Picks Five That Still Sound Beautiful
The Hungarian parenting portal gyerekszoba.hu has compiled five attractive girls' names that were especially common in Hungary in the 1980s. The list of the country's most popular names has since changed almost completely.
Parents in Hungary, a country in Central Europe, now choose very different names for their daughters than they did several decades ago. The Hungarian portal gyerekszoba.hu, which covers parenting and children's topics, has put together an overview of girls' names that were especially popular in the country during the 1980s.
A list that has changed
The names that are popular in Hungary today were very rare in the 1980s. The main exceptions are the classic names Anna and Viktória, which have stayed among the favorites. Otherwise the ranking of the most popular names has changed almost entirely, as present-day parents prefer other options.
A selection of five
The portal notes that some of the names that were common back then still sound beautiful. It therefore picked five girls' names that were particularly popular in Hungary in the 1980s. The available excerpt of the article does not name those five names.
