During a massive attack on Kyiv, a fire broke out on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, including the roof of the Dormition Cathedral, as a result of a direct hit.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko reported a fire on the territory of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. According to preliminary information, the ignition occurred due to a direct hit. Tkachenko stated that the extent of the damage caused by the Russians is being determined and measures are being taken to localize the fire within security protocols. Later, Tkachenko reported significant damage to the Lavra and a serious fire, emphasizing that the Russians deliberately struck the heart of one of the largest Christian shrines.
