Germany National Team to Pay for Fan Transport to Stadium Near New York
The German football team will cover travel costs for fans attending their World Cup match against Ecuador, responding to high transport prices in New York.

Germany's national football team has announced it will provide free buses for supporters traveling to their World Cup match against Ecuador. The game is scheduled for June 25 at 11:00 PM local time at MetLife Stadium, located near New York.
Transport costs to the stadium have sparked outrage among German fans. A regular bus ride from central New York to MetLife Stadium normally costs under $13, but during the World Cup, the price has risen to $20. A round trip on a New Jersey train costs $98.
New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill explained that the price increase is due to FIFA's refusal to cover fan transport costs during the World Cup. The decision to raise prices was made to protect local taxpayers from additional financial burden.
In response, the German Football Association (DFB) sent emails on Monday to members of official fan clubs, announcing the initiative. The message states: "We are giving our all both on and off the field to experience an unforgettable tournament together. Your support means a lot to us. We are fully aware of what you have sacrificed to be with us this summer, so as a team we want to give something back and have organized free bus services to the stadium for the match against Ecuador."
