More than 100 companies from the technology sector have signed a joint open letter calling for coordinated action to strengthen cyber defences. The initiative comes amid a rise in cyber attacks that make use of artificial intelligence.

The signatories say the growing use of AI in carrying out cyber attacks presents new risks that require an industry-wide response. The companies are calling for cooperation to jointly address these threats and limit their impact.

The open letter is seen as a signal that the private sector recognises the need to coordinate efforts, since individual organisations' defensive measures on their own may not be sufficient to counter increasingly sophisticated, AI-assisted attacks.
