Weak Link: Lebanon Left Unresolved in U.S.-Iran Deal to End War
The U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending the war leaves two core issues unresolved: Israel's occupation and Hezbollah's arsenal.

According to the recent U.S.-Iran agreement intended to end the war, fundamental issues such as Israel's military presence and Hezbollah's weapons remain unresolved. Lebanon emerges as a weak link in this context, as both points of contention converge on its territory. The agreement, crafted to reduce regional tensions, has failed to address Israel's occupation, a key driver of the conflict. Likewise, no settlement has been reached regarding Hezbollah's arsenal, the other critical problem. These unresolved issues may undermine the long-term effectiveness of the deal and pose a risk of the war resuming. Lebanon, already fragile politically and economically, finds itself in a difficult position, having to manage these two issues without a clear international consensus.
