Government Approves Modest Salary Increase for Cultural Heritage Staff
On June 16, the Cabinet of Ministers endorsed the Ministry of Culture's proposal to slightly raise salaries for employees of cultural heritage institutions, reallocating funds within the ministry's internal budget.

During its meeting on Tuesday, the Latvian government supported a proposal by the Ministry of Culture to provide a modest salary increase for staff working in cultural heritage and related institutions. The funding for the raise will come from internal budget reallocation within the ministry. The decision aims to make wages in the sector more competitive. Specific amounts and the exact list of affected institutions have not been disclosed, but the ministry notes this is a step toward reducing staff turnover and strengthening the preservation of cultural heritage.
