10th Latvian Youth Olympics in Valmiera draws record participation
After a seven-year hiatus, the 10th Latvian Youth Olympics took place in Valmiera with delegations from all 40 municipalities, achieving a record number of participants.

The 10th Latvian Youth Olympics was held in Valmiera from June 20 to 22. The event was organized on a grand scale and gathered participants from all 40 municipalities of Latvia. This was the first time since 2019 that the Olympics took place, with the previous games held in Jelgava.
A key tradition — the ceremonial parade — returned after a seven-year break. All municipal teams took part, showcasing sportsmanship and unity.
Organizers noted that this year's games in Vidzeme set a record for the highest number of participants in the history of the competition. Exact figures were not provided, but the record attendance highlights the growing popularity of youth sports in Latvia. Over the three days, young athletes competed in various sports, gaining valuable experience.
