On August 25, an education conference titled "Child Who [Does Not] Fit School?!" will take place in Valmiera, organized by the Education Board of Valmiera Municipality. The event will be held at the Valmiera Culture Centre from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and participation is free of charge.
The conference aims to foster an open dialogue about the challenges of the modern educational environment, particularly focusing on generational clashes, the impact of the digital age, and emotional well-being. Organizers emphasize that school today is not only a place for learning but also a space where different generations and experiences meet.
The program will cover topics such as children's and youth experiences in the digital environment, behavioral signals, teacher burnout risks, and creating a psychologically safe school environment. Special attention is paid to the influence of technology and artificial intelligence on the learning process.
Speakers include education and psychology specialist Elizabete Pavlova-Lūre, behavioral analyst Līga Bērziņa, psychotherapist Līga Vaite, Rūjiena Secondary School principal Linda Čākure, educator Gustavs Māziņš, and actress Zane Daudziņa. A youth group will also share their school experiences, along with business and AI experts.
The event is intended for preschool and school teachers, support staff, and school administrators. Registration is available via an online link until the day of the conference.
