A free celebratory concert called “Par savu zemi saukt” (roughly, “To Call Our Own Land”) will be held in the historic Market Square of Dobele, Latvia, on 18 November at 5 p.m. The event marks the 108th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. Singer Miks Galvanovskis will perform together with his accompanying band, according to the Dobele City Culture House.
Programme
The evening will be opened by the children's vocal ensemble “Susuriņi” from the Kaķenieki Community House. A ceremonial moment in honour of Latvia will follow, after which the concert by Galvanovskis will begin.
The performer's team says the programme will include both Galvanovskis's original songs and well-loved Latvian patriotic songs in his own arrangements.
