Vandals have defaced the fence of the country house of Russian singer Alla Pugacheva in the Moscow region, foreign media report. The red-paint message appeared in the village of Maliye Berezki, where her rural residence is located. The incident suggests that Pugacheva, who publicly condemned Russia's war in Ukraine and left Russia in 2022, still provokes a sharp reaction among part of Russian society.

The inscription

Unknown people wrote the phrase "Mossad office in Russia" on the fence. The vandals' actions were also captured in video clips. Foreign media say the message may be linked to Pugacheva's move to Israel with her family. Mentioning Mossad, Israel's intelligence service, may have been an attempt to discredit the singer. Soon after the incident, reports emerged that the inscription had mysteriously disappeared from the fence.

Attempts to sell the property

Pugacheva had earlier tried to part with the property by transferring it to her grandson Nikita Presnyakov. The house was put up for sale in 2023, but no buyer was found. Over time the asking price has fallen significantly, from 152 million rubles to 115 million rubles.

The mansion stands on the shore of a reservoir. It covers 760 square metres and includes a private cinema, a billiard room, a hammam bath and a swimming pool.
