Vanessa Trump says she is cancer-free after breast cancer diagnosis
Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr, has said her latest tests show no sign of the breast cancer diagnosed in April. She shared the news in a video posted on her daughter Kai's Instagram account.

Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr, the eldest son of US President Donald Trump, has announced that she is free of cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, and she says her latest test results "came back clear". The news comes in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Trump, 48, shared the update in a short video posted on Friday to the Instagram account of her 19-year-old daughter, Kai. She has five children with Trump Jr. The couple separated in 2018, and last year she publicly said she had begun dating US professional golfer Tiger Woods.
Diagnosis and treatment
In the video, Trump said she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in April. She made the diagnosis public in May, writing in a social media post that she had undergone surgery and was working on a treatment plan with her medical team.
Kai Trump said in her caption that a longer YouTube video would follow on Saturday. In it, she and her mother speak with Dr Nicole Saphier about prevention and early detection of breast cancer. Kai's post gained more than 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments offering support, including from American singer and media personality Mary Millben.
How common the disease is
According to the American Cancer Society, the average risk of a woman in the US developing breast cancer is about 1 in 8, or 13%. The disease accounts for 30% of all new female cancers each year.
Surgery cures most breast cancers. If some disease remains, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy can lower the long-term risk. Treatments continue to advance, with more targeted therapies for early breast cancer, new types of hormonal therapy, and more precise and effective radiotherapy.
