Latvian digital agency warns of fraudulent texts about e-address messages
The State Regional Development Agency (VDAA) has warned about scam text messages falsely claiming a new message has arrived in a person's e-address account. It advises against clicking links in such texts and instead checking directly via the Latvija.gov.lv portal.

Latvia's State Digital Development Agency (VDAA) has reported receiving information about fraudulent SMS messages telling recipients that a new message has arrived in their e-address (e-adrese) account. The agency states clearly that it never sends such SMS notifications itself.
Anyone who receives such a text is advised not to use the links included in it. Instead, people should log in directly to the "Latvija.gov.lv" portal to check whether a new e-address message has actually been received.
How to recognize a genuine notification
The agency explains that legitimate notifications about new e-address messages are sent by email, not SMS, from the address noreply@eadrese.gov.lv. Anyone receiving such an email is urged to carefully check the sender's address to confirm it exactly matches noreply@eadrese.gov.lv.
The warning comes amid a broader pattern of scams in which fraudsters use fake links to try to gain access to people's personal data or accounts.
