Polling Stations in Case of Air Raid: CEC Has a Plan
The Central Election Commission (CEC) confirms it has a plan for how to proceed if an air raid warning is issued during the parliamentary elections in October. Details are not disclosed for security reasons, but voting would be suspended and ballot boxes sealed and moved to a safe location.

In May and June, air raid warnings were issued several times in eastern Latvia, mainly in Latgale, due to foreign drones violating the country's airspace. A similar situation could occur in October during the parliamentary elections.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) confirms that a contingency plan is being developed, but details are not revealed for security reasons. However, it is known that in case of a warning, ballot boxes will be sealed and transported to a secure, guarded location, and the voting process will be suspended until the alert is lifted.
The CEC emphasizes that the plan is designed to ensure the safety and legitimacy of the election process under any circumstances.
