Ancient Crafts and Music Come Alive in Ventspils: Artisans' Festival at the Seaside Open-Air Museum
On August 2, the Ventspils Seaside Open-Air Museum will host an event featuring artisans demonstrating ancient crafts, pottery, concerts, and family activities.
The Ventspils Seaside Open-Air Museum invites visitors to a special event on August 2 dedicated to traditional craftsmanship and city celebrations. Continuing the tradition of Potters' Days, the event offers a chance to watch potters at work, try various activities, and purchase artisan goods.
At 12:00 PM, a concert program with singer-actor Ainars Bumbieris will begin near the Windmill. The Livonian Courtyard will host exciting Spinning competitions for masters. At 1:00 PM, together with potters Baiba and Einārs Dumpis, the Kurzeme pottery kiln will be opened with hot pots, supported by VKKF.
Throughout the museum grounds, there will be an artisan market and craft demonstrations. Visitors can meet rabbits, a sheep, and goats, and ride the Little Train. Fun activities for families with children are also planned.
In addition to the festivities, the museum's permanent exhibition and a special exhibition in the new building – "Prisoner of War Camp in Ventspils 1941–1948" – are open for viewing. Entry fees: 3 EUR; 6 EUR.
