Video: 20 European bison calmly cross territory in Latvian forest
A rare sight in Latvia's nature: about 20 European bison were filmed calmly crossing a forest area, seemingly unbothered by human presence. Experts remind to keep a safe distance and avoid approaching the animals.

An impressive scene has been captured on video in a Latvian forest: a herd of approximately 20 European bison (wisents) moving peacefully across the territory, paying little attention to the person filming. The footage, shared by LVM (Latvia's State Forests), shows the animals united in a calm procession.
Mārcis Pavlovičs, LVM hunting manager, explains that encountering wild bison in Latvia is very rare, as they mainly inhabit the Pape region. He emphasizes that while bison are not aggressive, people must maintain a safe distance and behave calmly.
Specialists advise that if you encounter a bison in the wild, do not approach it. Avoid sudden movements and slowly leave the area to avoid disturbing the animals or risking your safety.
