Waymo to go fully driverless in four more US cities
Waymo announced it will soon operate fully autonomous vehicles in San Diego, Las Vegas, Tampa, and Denver, initially for employees before opening to the public, adding to its growing robotaxi network.

Waymo, the autonomous driving company under Alphabet, has announced that it will expand fully driverless operations to four additional US cities: San Diego, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; Tampa, Florida; and Denver, Colorado. Initially, only Waymo employees will be able to use the service without a human supervisor behind the wheel, but the company plans to make it available to the general public shortly thereafter.
These four cities will join Dallas, Houston, Orlando, and San Antonio, where Waymo already operates fully autonomous rides. The company states it will soon serve more than ten cities with its robotaxi service.
Waymo has also begun testing in London as part of its first international expansion. However, some residents of a cul-de-sac in the city have complained that the vehicles' reversing noise wakes them up.
Separately, it recently emerged that Uber and Waymo have ended their partnership in Phoenix. It is no longer possible to book a Waymo ride through the Uber app. Uber is now working on its own robotaxis in collaboration with Lucid and Nuro. However, riders can still book Waymo rides via Waymo's own app.
