According to global research, only about 6% of Generation Z aspire to become bosses or senior managers. This trend is causing concern among companies already struggling to cultivate future leaders. Tomasz Skalski, CEO of Enpulse and employee engagement expert, points out that promotions now come with significantly higher workloads. The average team size has doubled from six to twelve members, increasing pressure on managers who must balance business targets with team development and well-being.

Gen Z realistically assesses what leadership entails and what sacrifices are needed, prioritizing work-life balance. This issue is global but particularly acute in Europe due to demographic shifts, with a shrinking working-age population. If businesses fail to prepare new leaders, they will face increasing challenges in maintaining organizational efficiency.

Skalski emphasizes that artificial intelligence cannot replace effective leadership. While AI automates processes, it lacks empathy, relationship-building, and motivational skills essential for managing people. These human qualities remain irreplaceable in leadership roles.
