Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that next week he will discuss with European partners some ideas for achieving long-term peace that are not yet public. The talks will take place as Europe hosts G7 meetings, where the main focus will be on Ukraine's defense and possibilities for peace.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the opening of a cluster for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as political agreements to strengthen Ukraine's defense, will be important. The president also thanked the United Kingdom for detaining a Russian oil tanker, noting that detentions of Russia's shadow fleet vessels have become a good tradition in European seas.

He stressed that the flow of oil must stop so that Russia's war approaches its end. Zelenskyy plans to discuss with partners also legislative changes to allow longer detention of tankers that earn money for Putin and confiscation of that oil.
