Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told a press conference in Kyiv that the United States will increase production of interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system in 2027, according to remarks reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

Zelensky said the American side has committed to raising the volume of anti-ballistic missile production next year. He added that Ukraine expects to need such systems for its defense regardless of whether the war has ended by then, expressing confidence that production volumes would indeed grow next year.

Meetings planned in Norway and Canada

The president also announced upcoming meetings in Norway and Canada aimed at strengthening Ukraine's anti-ballistic missile capabilities. He said several outstanding issues related to Ukraine's own anti-ballistic missile system need to be resolved, and said he expects the relevant talks to move forward as quickly as possible.

Germany also increasing output

According to Zelensky, Germany is likewise increasing its production of Patriot missiles, holding the necessary licenses to manufacture them. He noted that separate arrangements exist between Ukraine and Germany on this matter.

Ukraine has repeatedly urged its partners to expand supplies of air defense systems and missiles to better counter Russian aerial attacks.
