On Sunday, June 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. The call was confirmed by Dmytro Lytvyn, an advisor to the Ukrainian president on communications, as reported by European Pravda.

Lytvyn described the conversation as “quite substantive,” covering a wide range of issues from birthday congratulations to diplomacy and war/peace. The call lasted between 30 and 35 minutes, possibly a bit longer.

Notably, June 14 marks Trump’s 80th birthday, so Zelenskyy extended his greetings. This is the first publicly known direct communication between the two leaders in recent times, highlighting the ongoing dialogue and the importance of U.S. support for Ukraine.
