Zemgale news portal publishes list of deaths up to 14 October
The regional portal zz.lv published on 15 October a roundup of people who have died up to 14 October, with funeral times and cemeteries. It also names five residents of Jelgava municipality.
The Zemgale regional news portal zz.lv published its regular roundup on 15 October 2026 of people who have died up to 14 October. The list gives funeral dates and, in most cases, the cemetery: Meža, Baložu or Zanderu.
Upcoming funerals
Valija Žvirble (born 1955) will be laid to rest on 15 October at 12:00 at Meža Cemetery. On the same day at 14:00, a funeral is planned at Baložu Cemetery for Gaļina Rakicka (born 1937). Nikolajs Rudiņecs (born 1949) will be buried on 17 October at 12:00 at Meža Cemetery.
Funerals already held
Biruta Puķīte (born 1950) was buried on 9 October at Baložu Cemetery. On 13 October, Meža Cemetery held the funerals of Antons Redko (born 1944), Pēteris Kuruško (born 1960), Līga Laizāne (born 1952) and Vasilijs Šastitko (born 1938). Leonora Jaseviča (born 1942) was buried at Zanderu Cemetery on 13 October.
Jelgava municipality
The list separately names five people who died in Jelgava municipality: Dainuvīte Cirīte (born 1938), Ivans Jablonskis (born 1960), Inese Pempere (born 1947), Āris Strautnieks (born 1958) and Tamāra Šarendo (born 1958). The publication gives no funeral date or place for them.
