Collapse at Anniņmuižas Street
On Friday, July 3, 2026, the wooden roof trusses of a future store collapsed at Anniņmuižas Street 10 in Zolitūde, Riga. The Riga City Council confirmed that no injuries occurred. The State Police received a report about the collapsed structure, but the State Fire and Rescue Service was not dispatched to the scene.
According to the municipality, construction at the site had been previously halted. Preliminary information indicates that during the installation of wooden trusses, load-bearing walls and trusses lost stability and toppled. The area is fenced off, and security personnel are present. Several large stores are located nearby, drawing the attention of passersby.
