Actor Niklāvs Kurpnieks Expecting Second Child While Building Home in Olaine
Latvian actor Niklāvs Kurpnieks and his wife, actress Lolita Kurpniece, are expecting their second child. He told the magazine Privātā Dzīve that the small age gap between the children was deliberate.

Latvian actor Niklāvs Kurpnieks, known for his work on the series “Nelūgtie viesi”, has publicly shared that a second child is on the way in his family. He is already raising a son with his wife, actress Lolita Kurpniece, and the younger child is due to join the family soon.
In an interview with the magazine Privātā Dzīve, the actor, who is usually reserved about his private life, did not reveal many details. He said everything is fine, the feelings are wonderful and everything is as it should be. Asked whether the small age difference between the children was a deliberate choice, Kurpnieks confirmed it was.
A house in Olaine and a TV show
This year the actor is also building a house in Olaine himself. The construction can be followed in the TV3 programme “Ideja kā māja”, which shows the entire process, from choosing the plot and handling paperwork to the building work.
Kurpnieks stresses that he would have built the house in any case, not only because of the television project. In his view, such content could be useful to others. He notes that no TV channel could afford to build a house just to film it, and that there are probably not many people who are building a home themselves and are ready to document the process.
Family
Niklāvs and Lolita have been together since 2021 and married on 8 July 2023. They rarely show their family life in public. After their first child was born, the actor chose not to reveal the son’s exact birth date or name, describing it as a much-awaited and protected event. Of his first months as a father, he said there is little sleep, but the moment you take the little one in your arms, all the hardships are forgotten.
