In Aloja, a town some have started calling “Little Mexico,” an unusual venture has emerged: a pepper product brand named “Aktieri Pipari” (“Actor Peppers”). Behind it are two actors who present their products using theatrical imagery, giving each item in the range its own distinct “role.”
According to the brand's creators, the most in-demand "actor" in this pepper ensemble is currently the jalapeño pepper. Meanwhile, high hopes are pinned on the brand's "diva" — chili oil — which its founders expect to become one of the standout stars of the product line.
The idea behind the brand
The actors behind “Aktieri Pipari” believe that alongside the traditional sources of heat in Latvian cuisine — garlic and horseradish — hot peppers deserve a place too. Through their brand, they are turning this conviction into concrete products aimed at consumers.
The company's approach relies on theatrical branding: instead of presenting the items as ordinary food products, they are framed as participants in a kind of performance, each with a defined role and character. This gives the brand a distinctive identity that sets it apart from other local spice and pepper producers.
The brand's name and its founders' acting background suggest that “Aktieri Pipari” merges two seemingly separate worlds — the stage and food production — bringing a new, locally flavored and humor-infused product line to Aloja.
