Home car-cleaning service “Washcar” faces criticism over inconsistent quality
Several customers have complained on social media about the quality of Latvia's popular on-demand car cleaning service “Washcar,” prompting the company to apologize and promise fixes.

A discussion has emerged on the social platform Threads about “Washcar,” a mobile car-washing service that has grown increasingly popular in Latvia. The service allows customers to book cleaning through an app, with a team arriving to clean the vehicle wherever it is parked.
The conversation was started by a user named Olīvija, who described disappointment with a recent booking — windows left smeared and the interior not thoroughly vacuumed, despite the company's generally positive reviews.
Other customers share mixed experiences
Several other users joined in, some reporting similar problems. One customer said the last two cleanings had been noticeably substandard, and that the car's central display stopped working properly afterward. Another said the interior cleaning itself was fine, but the exterior was wiped down with a dirty towel, leaving streaks across the body and roof. A woman recounted her husband's experience, saying that even after paying for a more expensive package, parts of the promised service were skipped entirely.
Not everyone reported problems, however. One customer said her experience had consistently been excellent, though she noted that a different worker seemed to handle the job each time.
Company responds
A representative of Washcar joined the discussion, apologizing for the quality issues and acknowledging that problems had arisen within the service team, which would be addressed internally. The company said it would contact dissatisfied customers individually, including offering Olīvija a free re-clean, suggesting the original job had likely been done too hastily.
