The annual LAMPA conversation festival took place in Cēsis on July 10 and 11, featuring over 400 events across locations such as Cēsu Pils Park, Maija Park, and Pils Square. This year’s central question was “What should not be talked about?”, encouraging open discussion on various subjects.

Among the festival participants were several residents of Bauska region who actively engaged in discussions. For instance, Ingrīda Levko, board member of the apartment owners’ cooperative society “Aivītes” in Ceraukste parish, took part in the evening conversation “House Stories: Failures and Successes,” sharing authentic experiences about apartment building management. Levko, also a member of the association “Mājoklis,” emphasized that every apartment owner must realize their responsibility for their building.

Meanwhile, Lolita Dūmiņa, chair of the apartment owners’ association “A41 Iecava,” participated in the competition “Latvia’s Best-Kept Apartment Building Yard,” presenting her yard’s story. She noted that the biggest challenge is dealing with critical neighbors, but this has taught her patience.

The museum sector was represented by Laura Lūse, director of Rundāle Palace Museum, who in the discussion “Museums and Making Money” defended museums as non-profit institutions primarily aimed at educating the public.

Gints Jankovskis, head of the youth association “Laiks jauniešiem,” led an interactive conversation on school climate, based on research conducted in Bauska region schools and elsewhere in Latvia. The discussion analyzed the well-being of students and teachers, as well as social inclusion.

The LAMPA festival is organized annually by over 300 organizations and active individuals, creating an open platform for free and respectful discourse on important societal issues.
