The Bauska municipality will organize a public auction on Wednesday, June 17, at the municipality's meeting hall at 1 Uzvaras Street in Bauska. A total of 17 different properties will be offered, with starting prices ranging from €800 for a one-room apartment in Brunava Parish to €80,000 for a 22.17-hectare plot in Skaistkalne Parish.

Most of the properties are apartments. In Bauska alone, six apartments are available: two one-room units on Salātu Street (starting at €9,500 and €9,400) and four on Rīgas Street (from €4,600 to €5,900). Outside Bauska, a three-room apartment in Pastališķi (€2,800) and the cheapest item – a one-room apartment in Brunava Parish for €800 – are being sold. Rural properties include “Saulāji” in Brunava (€6,800) and “Blušas” in Rundāle (€4,000).

One of the most valuable objects is a former school building at 3 Raiņa Street in Iecava, with a starting price of €57,700 – this property was already auctioned last year with a starting price of €50,000. The most expensive property is agricultural land “Pie Baltezera” in Skaistkalne, now priced at €80,000, a significant drop from the initial €144,400 in January this year.

Bidders must submit applications by June 16, pay a registration fee of €20, and a deposit of 10% of the starting price. Most properties can be viewed in advance by contacting the listed persons.

The Bauska municipality currently owns about 500 apartments, many inherited from Soviet-era farms. The local government plans to keep only around 150 apartments for social risk groups and specialists in needed professions, while gradually selling the rest. Last year, 123 apartments were sold – half to existing tenants and the rest at auctions. This year, about 30 apartments have already been sold, and another 50 are planned for auction by year-end. The municipality emphasizes that tenants are not evicted; if a tenant wishes to buy the apartment, a valuation is carried out.
