BBC Sport ranks the 16 remaining World Cup teams; France top, Paraguay bottom
BBC Sport has ranked the remaining teams in the World Cup, with France leading as the team to beat, while Paraguay sits at the bottom.

BBC Sport has assessed all 16 teams still in the World Cup and published a ranking from best to worst. France tops the list, having looked unbeatable so far – their attack is fearsome and Kylian Mbappe is in top form. Spain is second, having quietly improved after a shock 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in their opener. Argentina ranks third, led by Lionel Messi, looking impressive despite a huge scare against Cape Verde before winning 3-2. Brazil is fourth, with Carlo Ancelotti getting them to play well and Vinicius Jr firing. Morocco is fifth – semifinalists four years ago and capable of going deep again. Colombia is sixth, one of the most exciting teams with pace and dynamism, plus Luis Diaz. Mexico is seventh with an explosive attack and solid defense. England is eighth – after a strong second half against Croatia in their opener, they have struggled to repeat that performance but got the job done. Norway is ninth, with Erling Haaland looking full of goals. The United States is tenth, an organized side but lacking that X-factor. Portugal is eleventh, not yet at full speed. Switzerland is twelfth, celebrating their first knockout win since 1938. Egypt is thirteenth, needing Mohamed Salah to step up. Belgium is fourteenth – they played poorly against Senegal but found a way to win 3-2 from 2-0 down. Canada is fifteenth, having perhaps already exceeded expectations. Paraguay is sixteenth, having produced one of the tournament's shocks by beating Germany, but further progress looks tough.
