Brussels Public Transport to Donate Over 30 Buses to Ukraine
STIB, the Brussels public transport company, will donate 36 diesel buses to Ukraine to aid in rebuilding transport infrastructure in Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

The Brussels public transport company STIB has announced the transfer of over 30 diesel buses to Ukraine. This initiative is part of the company's fleet renewal plan, which includes a gradual transition to electric transport by 2035. The announcement was made by STIB CEO Brieuc de Meeûs during a press conference, as reported by European Pravda and Euractiv.
A total of 36 buses, commissioned between 2010 and 2011, will be handed over. Each bus has approximately 700,000 kilometers on its odometer. Deliveries will occur in batches starting in September, and the buses will be used in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
This donation is part of a broader modernization process of STIB's fleet, which includes a shift to electric vehicles. Notably, in late May, the Netherlands delivered another batch of military aid to Ukraine, including over 60 Toyota Hilux pickups and modern drone systems. Additionally, Denmark recently provided Ukraine with five modern fire and rescue vehicles.
