Dyson Unveils New Cordless Vacuum Lineup: V16, V10, and V8 Models
Dyson has launched three new cordless vacuums—the V16 Piston Animal, V10 Konical, and V8 Cyclone—featuring improved suction power and new features. The V16 is the most powerful, the V10 is the first with self-emptying, and the V8 is a revamped classic with more power.

New Dyson Cordless Vacuums
Electronics company Dyson has released three new cordless vacuum models: the V16 Piston Animal, V10 Konical, and V8 Cyclone. They join earlier launches this year like the Dyson PencilVac and Spot+Scrub robot, making the brand's lineup the largest ever.
Dyson V16 Piston Animal
The V16 Piston Animal ($980) is the company's most powerful cordless vacuum, with 315 air-watts of suction and a 900-watt Hyperdymium motor. It features a new 'All Floor Cones Sense' cleaner head with conical brush bars that automatically detect floor type and adjust. It also includes a Fluffy Optic head for hard floors. The debris bin compresses dust, holding up to 30 days' worth, and has an improved emptying mechanism. A self-emptying docking station is promised but not yet available; Dyson says it will be purchasable in the future.
The Submarine variant ($1,100) adds a wet roller head with new hydration control technology for targeted water use and a boost mode for stains.
Dyson V10 Konical
The V10 Konical ($500) is Dyson's first self-emptying vacuum, but its auto-empty Dok station ($150) won't be available until August. It has 150 air-watts of suction and comes only with the 'All Floor Cones' cleaner head (without Sense) and two additional attachments. It offers 60 minutes of run time and HEPA filtration.
Dyson V8 Cyclone
The V8 Cyclone ($400) is an upgraded version of a classic, promising 30% more suction and a full hour of run time. It also delivers 150 air-watts of suction and replaces the trigger with a power button. It comes with an older Motorbar cleaner head and only a crevice tool. It is compatible with the same auto-empty Dok ($150, available in August).
Time to Buy?
With Amazon Prime Day approaching, discounts on older Dyson models like the Gen5detect and V15 Detect may appear. New models are unlikely to go on sale this month; sales may occur during fall events.
