The Latvian rock band Dzelzs Vilks ("Iron Wolf") is approaching its 35th anniversary. Band members Juris Kaukuls and Kaspars Tobis appeared on Kultūrdeva, a programme of Latvian public media LSM, to talk about a tour marking the milestone and an upcoming album.
A video for the new song
Kaukuls described how the video for the band's new song, Mēs esam vilks ("We Are the Wolf"), came together. The people behind the clip asked listeners not whether they were fans of the band, but whether they felt that animal, the wolf, within themselves.
According to Kaukuls, the response was very large and came as a surprise to the band. People sent in their own photographs and wanted to take part in the project.
