Wildfires rage across Europe: three firefighters dead, thousands evacuated
Several European countries are battling severe wildfires that have claimed the lives of three firefighters and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes.
This week, multiple large wildfires continue to burn across Europe. In France and Spain, three firefighters have died while trying to contain the blazes. Emergency services have evacuated thousands of residents from the affected areas.
In Sicily, Italy, wildfires have forced more than 100 people to leave their properties. Local authorities have declared an emergency and are continuing efforts to battle the flames, but dry weather and strong winds are hampering progress. No additional casualties have been reported so far.
