European Parliament approves trade agreement with the US
The European Parliament on Tuesday gave its final approval to a trade agreement with the US, with 440 votes in favor, 151 against, and 50 abstentions.

The European Parliament on Tuesday formally approved the trade agreement between the European Union and the United States. The vote saw 440 MEPs support the deal, 151 oppose it, and 50 abstain.
The agreement was reached last July. It sets a 15% tariff on most EU goods and a zero tariff on US industrial products.
EU member states had already approved the deal, so the Parliament's endorsement was the last political step before implementation. To enter into force, the agreement still requires final approval from member states, expected shortly, and publication in the EU's official journal.
US President Donald Trump has threatened to raise tariffs on EU imports if the bloc does not complete ratification by July 4.
