German agricultural machinery manufacturer Fendt will present two 2027 Tractor of the Year (TOTY) finalists and a limited-edition anniversary 900 series tractor at the EIMA machinery show in Bologna, Italy, next month. The show runs from 10 to 14 November at the BolognaFiere exhibition centre and is the 47th edition of the Italian event.

EIMA is held every two years in even-numbered years, while Agritechnica takes place in odd-numbered years. Both shows host their own TOTY awards. Fendt is reportedly bringing its full line-up, from compact and speciality tractors to combines and hay tools.

Two TOTY finalists

The Fendt 1100 Vario MT Gen2 tracked tractor range will make its first European appearance. It was launched globally in September at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa. The range has four models with 521–680hp. The top model, the 1167 Vario MT Gen2, uses all 680hp and 3,100Nm of torque from a 16.2-litre MAN six-cylinder engine. Fendt claims it is the most powerful tracked tractor with a stepless transmission on the market.

The other finalist is the 314 Vario Gen5, from the fifth-generation 300 series. It has an AGCO Power 44HD four-cylinder engine producing up to 152hp, with DynamicPerformance adding 10hp when needed. The tracked tractor competes in the HighPower category, while the 314 faces five other tractors in the Utility category. Rivals include Steyr, Landini, Massey Ferguson and Claas. Fendt has won 10 categories in the past 10 years and 18 in the competition's history.

Anniversary 900 series

The limited-edition Fendt 900 series will be shown publicly for the first time. In July this year the 900 series reached 50,000 units built, 30 years after the first generation left the production line in 1996. It was Fendt's first tractor to use the Vario transmission. The special edition is limited to 300 units and revives the 2005 black-red Design-Line look, with embroidered or engraved anniversary logos and a choice of five paint finishes.

Fuel consumption

Fuel consumption will be a central topic at the Fendt stand, with results from the DLG PowerMix test on show. In 2025 the Fendt 724 Vario Gen7.1 consumed 242g/kWh (+24.2g/kWh AdBlue). This year the Fendt 832 Vario achieved 235g/kWh (+29g/kWh AdBlue), a new record for tractors up to 350ps in the test.
