FIFA to sell pieces of World Cup final stadium pitch, could earn millions
FIFA announced that after the 2026 World Cup final, it will sell authentic turf pieces from the pitch at prices ranging from $450 to $1,200, potentially earning over $11 million.

FIFA is hoping to monetize the World Cup final even after the tournament ends by selling segments of the pitch as memorabilia. On Saturday, football’s governing body announced that pieces of the turf from the final match will be available for purchase starting at $450 per piece.
The pitch is located at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which typically uses artificial turf for NFL games of the New York Giants and Jets. FIFA renamed the venue to New Jersey New York Stadium for the World Cup. Players and coaches have criticized the quality of the field.
According to a report by The Athletic, FIFA could earn more than $11 million from the sales. The official store states that each turf segment measures 17.5 by 17.5 by 17.5, though it does not specify whether the unit is inches, centimeters, or millimeters. The pieces are preserved in acrylic resin and come with a USB keepsake.
FIFA offers four tiers of souvenir turf: $450, $900, $1,200, and $3,000. The highest tier includes a gold-etched replica ticket, a miniature World Cup ball, and a crystal-cut trophy. No more than 2,026 pieces will be available in any single tier.
Shipping is limited to addresses in the United States and Europe, and orders will only be shipped after the 2026 World Cup final. FIFA is selling regular final tickets for up to $32,970 and hospitality tickets with food and drinks for $34,500 and $32,500.
The turf for the final is grown at a turf farm in North Carolina. New natural turf fields were installed at all World Cup venues, including those that typically have artificial surfaces. There is no indication of what will happen to the turf from other venues not used for the final.
