Latvian Hip-Hop Artist Fiņķis Releases New Single “Nokavējis” With Singer Julianna
Latvian hip-hop artist Fiņķis has released “Nokavējis” with singer Julianna, the first single from his album “Atpūtas un izklaides komplekss”, due in 2027. The next single, “Finansiālā distonija”, is set for 16 November.
Fiņķis, a Latvian hip-hop performer and songwriter, has released a new song, “Nokavējis”, together with singer Julianna. It is the first single from his album “Atpūtas un izklaides komplekss”, which is expected in 2027. A video for the song has also been released.
The track was made with producer Andis Ansons and Kristaps Ērglis, a bandmate of Fiņķis. According to the NRA outlet, the sound is memorable and continues the slightly ironic style the artist is known for.
How the song came about
Fiņķis says that he and Andis had borrowed the legendary “Suzuki Omnichord” synthesizer. One of its presets forms the basis of the Gorillaz song “Clint Eastwood”. Inspired by the instrument and by stories, they began work on the new song.
The outro is a phone recording from rehearsals in 2026. In Fiņķis’s words, it turned out so good that they left it exactly as it was.
Link to theatre
“Nokavējis” is part of the soundtrack of the play “Egomaniaki” at Valmiera Theatre, and Fiņķis drew the inspiration for the lyrics directly from that production. It was recorded at the band’s creative camp in Zakopane, Poland, and at the studios “Mute” in Riga and “Alejas” in Cēsis.
What comes next
Fiņķis’s next single, “Finansiālā distonija”, is due on 16 November. On 4 December, fans can expect “even more special surprises”, as the source puts it.
