Guehi and Stones set to start for England in World Cup quarter-final
Marc Guehi has won his fitness race and is expected to start England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway alongside a recalled John Stones in central defence.

England are preparing for their World Cup quarter-final against Norway with several expected changes to the starting lineup. Defender Marc Guehi, who suffered a minor hamstring strain in the win over Mexico and missed training sessions this week, has been cleared to start in central defence. He will be partnered by John Stones, who is set to be recalled for the first time since the opening game against Croatia.
Ezri Konsa will move from centre-back to right-back. Declan Rice is fit to start despite a sickness bug that affected his preparation. In another change, Noni Madueke is expected to play ahead of Bukayo Saka. Reece James, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, and Djed Spence are likely to be on the bench.
Stones and Guehi form an all-Manchester City central defence, which will face their club teammate Erling Haaland, who has scored seven goals at the World Cup — one more than Harry Kane. Stones, 32, has been a substitute in all matches since Croatia but played a key role against Mexico, coming on for Saka after Jarell Quansah's red card.
Expected England lineup: Pickford, Konsa, Guehi, Stones, O'Reilly, Anderson, Rice, Madueke, Gordon, Bellingham, Kane.
