Grupa Azoty Police begins signing contract amendments with pay rises for some employees
Grupa Azoty Police, a Polish fertiliser and chemicals producer, has started signing amendments to employment contracts. For some staff they mean higher base pay and back pay from July.

Grupa Azoty Police, a fertiliser producer based in Police in north-western Poland, has begun signing amendments to employment contracts with its staff. For some employees they bring a higher base salary and back pay covering the period since July 2026. The agricultural portal Farmer.pl reported this, citing the local outlet Dziennik Policki.
The basis for the changes
The changes stem from an agreement between the company's management board and trade unions, concluded on 26 June 2026. It provides, among other things, for reorganising the pay grades assigned to job positions. The board says the amendments are the result of a process, lasting several months, of putting the pay system in order.
The company says wages at its plants were "frozen" for many years. Despite its currently difficult financial situation, the board decided to introduce changes. Małgorzata Królak, president of the management board, stressed that the company is honouring its agreement with employee representatives and called it an important step in restoring stability and staff trust.
Wojciech Kuśmirek, director of the Corporate Governance Department, said employees are receiving the amendments positively, especially the back pay from July: with the next payment they will receive extra money for several previous months.
What is unknown and what comes next
The company did not disclose how many employees will receive raises or how large the increases will be. The board says the evaluation of job positions is only the first stage, to be followed by clear rules on promotions and regrading of employees.
Talks with the unions on the 2027 pay policy are under way. Next year's amounts and rules for raises have not yet been presented. The board acknowledged that the plants' financial capacity is limited while employee expectations are high.
