Workers at South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor started a partial strike on Monday that will last three days. The union announced that work stoppages will occur for four hours each day from Monday to Wednesday. The protest aims to secure higher wages, bigger bonuses, and an increase in the retirement age.

Negotiations between the union and company management over wage increases began in May but have failed to produce an agreement. The strike comes amid growing concerns among employees about job security, especially with the rapid introduction of artificial intelligence in production processes.

According to South Korea's largest business daily, "Maeil Business Newspaper," the strike could cause losses of around 200 billion won (116 million euros) for the automaker. Hyundai is one of South Korea's largest companies, and any production disruptions affect both the local economy and global supply chains.
