New 10th Grade Admission Algorithm Causes Dissatisfaction Among Riga Parents
The online admission algorithm introduced by the Ministry of Education for Riga's high schools has faced criticism as some children haven't received invitations despite good grades, while others got offers from schools not among their top choices.

The Ministry of Education and Science is testing a new online admission algorithm for 10th grade students in Riga's high schools this year. While designed to make the process more transparent and efficient, the portal "Delfi" has received several complaints from parents about its performance.
Parents report that the queue is moving very slowly, and some children, despite having good grades, have not yet received any invitation. Others have been invited to attend a school that was not among their top preferences. This situation has led to frustration and uncertainty among families.
On Tuesday, July 14, the Ministry has promised to provide an update on the admission progress. Meanwhile, the portal invites parents and graduates from Riga to share their experiences, whether their children have already received an invitation or are still waiting for one.
