Benches Renovated at Jelgava Bus Station Square, New Trash Bins Planned
Ten benches at Jelgava bus station square have been renovated, with damaged wooden parts replaced and paint renewed, while new trash bins are planned for installation this autumn.

The Jelgava municipal institution “Pilsētsaimniecība” has announced the completion of bench renovation works at the city’s bus station square. A total of ten benches were refurbished – seven located within the square itself and three along its perimeter. The renovation involved replacing damaged wooden components and applying a fresh coat of paint, restoring the benches to a usable condition for residents and visitors.
According to the municipality, this is part of a broader effort to improve the area. Later this autumn, new trash bins are scheduled to be installed in the square. Although the exact number and placement have not yet been disclosed, the move is expected to enhance cleanliness and convenience for the public.
The bus station square serves as a key public space in Jelgava, frequently used by commuters and tourists alike. The upgraded benches and planned waste receptacles reflect the local government's commitment to maintaining urban infrastructure and creating a pleasant environment for rest and waiting.
