Nearly one hundred seniors in Jelgava, a city in Latvia's Zemgale region, have begun a new academic year this autumn at a university for older people. The programme shows that it is never too late to return to the classroom.
The students are learning foreign languages and computer skills, and also studying artificial intelligence. There are no exams, but the knowledge they gain sometimes surprises even their own grandchildren.
The start of the seniors' studies in Jelgava was reported by the regional broadcaster Zemgales reģionālā televīzija.
