Jūrmala city council reminds residents not to leave bagged autumn leaves on streets or other public spots before collection is requested. Free collection is available in November, with bookings open until 16 November.

Jūrmala city council is asking residents who are tidying their properties not to place bagged autumn leaves outside their own plot, including by the fence on the street side or in other publicly accessible places. This is allowed only once collection has been requested and agreed with the household waste operator. To help residents, the council is offering free hand-over of collected leaves in November.

How to request collection

Requests are handled by SIA “Clean R”, the household waste operator in Jūrmala. Bookings can be made until 16 November:

  • in the mobile app manai.videi.lv;
  • by email at kc@cleanr.lv;
  • by phone on 67111001, between 8:00 and 17:00.

Collection can be requested by building managers, as well as individuals and companies that have a contract with SIA “Clean R”. The request must include the address, phone number, the number of the contract for unsorted household waste management and the expected number of bags. Collection from one address can be requested only once.

Requirements for bags

Leaves must go into single-use waste bags, tied securely. Bags must not be overfilled, so they do not tear when lifted, and one bag may not exceed 100 litres. Only tree leaves and grass may be put in; a small amount of thuja and pine needles and small twigs is acceptable.

Until the request is confirmed, bags must be kept on the owner's property. They may not be left at street edges, on pavements, by fences outside the property or in other public places. The rules will be monitored by the city's Property Management Office, City Economy Division, together with the municipal police, who will watch for unauthorised waste in street green zones.

Delivering leaves yourself

From 26 October to 30 November, residents can also bring leaves free of charge to the separate-waste collection site run by SIA “Clean R” at Ventspils šoseja 61. It is open on Tuesdays 9:00–18:00, Wednesdays to Fridays 9:00–17:00 and Saturdays 8:00–15:00.

If collection has already been requested once but more leaves have accumulated, residents should contact SIA “Clean R” on +371 67111001 or at kc@cleanr.lv. The company will arrange removal at the set tariff.
