Choosing a Protein Powder for Muscle Growth When Returning to the Gym

A sponsored article explains why muscle recovery needs protein and how different powders may affect digestion. It promotes an egg-white protein product with digestive enzymes and stevia, and is advertising content.

The Latvian news site Jauns.lv has published a sponsored article, which is commercial content, about dietary supplements for fitness enthusiasts. It is aimed at people who return to gym training after a long break or increase their workload and want to build muscle mass. At the end, readers are encouraged to buy products at the store Fiteg².

The role of protein in recovery

The article says intense strength training causes microscopic damage in muscle fibres. After a workout, the body repairs this damage and builds new protein structures, making the muscles thicker and more resilient. This process requires amino acids. According to the text, if they are lacking, the body may start breaking down existing muscle tissue.

Whey and plant proteins

The authors note that protein powders based on cow's milk whey can cause bloating and discomfort in some people because of lactose, as some people lack the enzyme lactase. Plant-based proteins, the material says, often lack the full range of nine essential amino acids and therefore need to be combined.

Egg albumin with enzymes and stevia

An egg-white protein that contains no lactose is presented as the alternative. It has the DigeZyme® enzyme complex added, containing neutral protease, amylase and lipase, which help break down proteins. It is sweetened with stevia extract instead of synthetic sweeteners such as sucralose. The text claims that stevia glycosides have a zero glycemic index.

The article also describes the flavours: salted caramel, chocolate, vanilla and an unflavoured version that can be added to soups, bakes or sauces.

The supplement does not replace a complete and balanced diet.
