Potato Growers Optimistic About New Harvest After Harsh Winter
After a difficult previous year, potato growers are more optimistic this season – interest in new potatoes is high, and the harsh winter has reduced the presence of Colorado beetles.

Potato growers, who faced challenges last year, are now looking ahead with greater optimism. Interest in new potatoes is significant, and locally grown potatoes can be purchased directly at farms, as well as at markets and stores.
Thanks to the harsh winter, Colorado beetles are rarely found in potato fields. For small farms, this means a better yield, as the beetles are no longer a major pest. For large growers, however, the Colorado beetle is not the primary threat to the crop, so its impact on yield is minimal.
