Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Thursday afternoon that debris from a Russian drone fell on a non-residential area in the city's Desnianskyi district, sparking a fire. Emergency services are heading to the scene.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on social media on Thursday afternoon that debris from an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle had fallen on non-residential property in the Desnianskyi district of the Ukrainian capital, causing a fire to break out.
According to Klitschko, emergency services are already en route to the site to deal with the aftermath and extinguish the blaze.
Third air raid alert of the day
The mayor noted that August 20 has already seen three separate air raid alerts sounded across Kyiv, underscoring the persistent threat facing the city throughout the day.
Dozens injured in overnight strike
The latest incident followed a heavier assault overnight into August 20, when Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles, triggering multiple explosions across the city. The mass strike killed 15 people, with the number of injured reaching 39.
Kyiv has increasingly come under combined ballistic missile and drone attacks in recent times, keeping residents under sustained threat to their safety.
