US reality TV star and actress Kim Kardashian has said she will retake the California bar exam, the licensing test for lawyers in the state, in order to become a real-life lawyer. On screen she already plays one in the legal drama All's Fair, which streams on Hulu.

According to the report, Kardashian learned she had failed the exam after the first series of the programme aired last year. She had previously studied law for six years.

A promise to announce the result

Speaking to the BBC's Annabel Rackham, Kardashian said she would take the exam again and tell people once she had passed, adding that she would be very vocal about it. She also said she would keep quieter about her journey until she gets there.

The interview was given alongside her co-star Naomi Watts, ahead of the second series of All's Fair.

Reception of the show

Critics have roundly panned the programme, although it broke streaming records. The source does not say which records were broken or give a date for the second series.

It also does not say when Kardashian plans to sit the exam again, so the timing of her new attempt is unknown.
