The Creative House run by the “Baltaine” association in Koknese has held another of its regular cooking workshops, this time dedicated to zucchini — a vegetable that tends to be abundant in autumn gardens and is often shared generously among friends and neighbors.

The session was led by Īrisa Karosa, who, as in previous workshops, guided participants in preparing healthy dishes rich in nutrients. The recipes emphasized high protein and fiber content while keeping calorie counts relatively low.

Three dishes from one vegetable

Participants made three different dishes using zucchini. First, they prepared zucchini bread. While it baked in the oven, they moved on to a savory zucchini pan pie. Finally, for dessert, they made zucchini brownies, demonstrating how versatile the vegetable can be — useful not only in main dishes but in sweets as well.

The event is part of the “Baltaine” Creative House's ongoing series of cooking workshops, where local residents can learn new recipes and healthy cooking skills within their community.
