From the evening of June 21, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 88 drones, 79 of which were neutralized by air defenses.

From the evening of June 21 to the morning of June 22, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 88 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as of 08:30, air defense systems had destroyed or suppressed 79 enemy drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Itelmas models, as well as other types. The defense operations covered the north, south, and east of the country.
However, the attack was not fully repelled: hits were recorded from the ballistic missile and five attack drones at six locations. Additionally, debris from downed drones fell at nine sites. The drones were launched from multiple directions – from the Russian cities of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from occupied Hvardiiske in Crimea and occupied Donetsk.
The response involved aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and UAV system units, and mobile fire groups. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the attack is ongoing, with enemy drones still in the airspace.
