Russia risks losing part of its grain harvest as Ukraine’s refinery strikes dry up diesel
Farmers in Russia’s southern breadbasket face fuel limits, empty pumps, and price spikes at the exact moment combines need to roll, as Moscow continues its costly war against Ukraine.

According to a report by Euromaidan Press, Russian farmers in the country's southern grain-producing region are experiencing fuel shortages right at the start of the harvest season. Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries have disrupted diesel supplies, leaving pumps empty and causing prices to spike. This situation endangers a portion of Russia's grain harvest, as combines lack sufficient fuel to operate. Moscow continues its costly war against Ukraine, which adds further pressure on the nation's economy and agricultural sector.
